Curious to quickly learn about the craft, Andrée-Anne joined an architectural firm as an intern during her early years of studying for her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at Université Laval in 2010. She received her Master’s degree in 2014 and worked in a Quebec City architectural firm, first as an intern, then as an architect starting in 2017. Returning to Montreal in 2019, she joins the team of Blouin Beauchamp Architectes to take on new challenges. Involved in all stages of an architectural project, from its design to its realization, Andrée-Anne is committed to the projects she works on. Her sense of organization, her attention to details and her teamwork skills makes her a great asset to the firm.
The Slate Residence is a project I particularly enjoyed working on. Both refined and grandiose, the residence allows its occupants to project themselves into the landscape while living a unique architectural experience. Built around a central exhibition space overhung by a light well, the living and resting spaces are designed to create a path in constant dialogue with the exterior landscape. As I was involved in the project from the beginning, I appreciated the opportunity to develop the details of the envelope of the building as well as the design of the interior furnishings and to collaborate on choosing the finishes with the client and the construction team. The clients’ trust and the collaborative spirit of the project team throughout the construction process made the work very stimulating and enjoyable.
