Sophie Binette

Sophie first completed a technical degree in architecture and then pursued her academic career with a bachelor’s degree from Laval University and a Master’s degree that she completed in 2018 at the University of Montreal. She combines her academic background with a social involvement as a volunteer in several organizations; experience that she transposes to design to bring a sensitivity to living spaces in order to achieve human-scale projects. Sophie joined the Blouin Beauchamp Architectes team in 2020 after three years of experience in the design and realization of multi-residential projects. She invests herself carefully in the realization of each project, with a great human and social conscience.

I particularly enjoyed working on the TOD Candiac residential project in its design phase, including the treatment of the facades involving the choice of materiality and the detailing of the openings to promote integration with the existing residential context. I also particularly appreciated the relationship between the site’s green spaces, its raised interior courtyard and the adjacent park, to create permeability and a continuity of quality space for users. The visual and physical links between the exterior and interior common spaces are important elements of the project that I enjoyed highlighting.
